Alford is out

Steve AlfordReports are coming out today that Steve Alford has agreed to a contract with New Mexico State to become their head basketball coach next season. A news conference to announce the deal is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

It’s a good thing the University of Iowa didn’t waste any money buying firestevealford.com.

Is this a good move for the Hawks? Who’s going to take over coaching duties next year?

I still haven’t decided how much I like this because every time you hire a new coach it seems like the program is down for a few years until they can get their own players in there to run their type of system. On the other hand we haven’t been playing to fantastic as of late anyways. I’m just wondering the names that are going to be thrown around now. But more importantly it’s getting time to talk football.
