Good news Cubs fans

November 10, 2008 |

Cather Geovany Soto was named National League Rookie of the Year today. He received all but one first place vote. Soto is the first Cub to win the award since Kerry Wood won in 1998.

This doesn’t really take the sting out though, does it?

  1. It doesn’t take the sting out much, no…. Now the Cubs need to go out there and get Peavy to solidify that starting rotation and give it another run next year!

  3. The Cubs could sign me to pitch and it still wouldn’t change the fact that they hit .240 in the playoffs this year.

  13. How ironic you mention Kerry Wood, as the Cubs have now announced they will not re-sign him to a new contract. Soto did have a great year and this was a just reward. Just in that the Cubs have awarded Ryan Dempster for his good season with 4 years-52 million, I believe….
