Congratulations to my friends Sam and Kristin who joined the world of college graduates last week. May your travels bless you with good jobs that don’t include scalping tickets. Good luck with those student loans too. I only have 26 years left and mine will be paid off.

  1. Thanks Nate, oh and thanks again for reminding me of those student loans. Maybe I should try to save some up some money for those instead of spending it at your bar, but what fun would that be.

  3. Apparently the University of Iowa didn’t teach me how to write. What I meant to say was maybe I should try to save up some money instead of spending it at your bar. I must still be feeling those $1 cans of Grain Belt.

  11. What did you go to college for smart ass?

  13. Oh, I think it worked just fine. I got to meet lots of pretty girls and drink lots of cheap beer. The more cheep beer I drank the prettier the girls were. Now it’s the other way around. The girls drink cheap beer and I start to look better. It’s a win-win situation for everybody.

  17. Any private college is better. The reasoning behind that is: they give better private scholarships than State owned colleges. They might cost more at first but with the scholarships they are alot cheaper. I know. I am a parent paying for a State college.

  19. Better for what? I think you could make a case for any school public or private depending on the area of study.

  21. I would never send my children to a public school. The private ones are able to afford professors that have more experience in their fields and can do more research, which gains the school more recognition.

  23. When I say school, I am referring to a college or university.

  25. You’re comparing apples to oranges. It depends on the institutions and how in depth the go into research.

  27. That’s not true. Many public institutions have excellent programs and are well known in certain fields for their greatness. University of Iowa is one. Thier medical program and hospitals have done great things. Iowa State is also well known for it’s agricultural and technology programs. Really, the only differences between public and private schools are the cost of tuition and size of campus.

  29. I agree U of I is great. ISU, however, I wouldn’t recommend it.
