What are your thoughts on…

1. The new gazebo in the city park
2. The swimming pool being converted to a full-scale aquatic center

And a couple things for posting…
I don’t mind the anonymous postings, in fact I encourage it. But maybe create a nickname for yourself before you post. It’s tough to follow a thread when all the posts are from ‘Anonymous’ bloggers. Just a thought, not a requirement.

  1. It’s about time something was done with both projects.

  3. Too bad that the tax dollars weren’t spent as they were intended
over the last 10 years or so. The city council had excss $ in the Parks & Rec funds. In stead of putting the $ where it was supposed to be, Winifred Gaskill and Marnie Wells made a motion to put the (P & R) money back into the general fund where it was used to hire more police protection. I wonder if Old Iron Tits was lesing off with Winnie and Marnie. Sleeping with the council could be construed as a conflict of interest. Reguardless of the rummors, that $ should have been used to improve our parks and our swimming pool. It could have gone towards a summer recreational program for our kids like Redfield does. Shame Shame that we residentsa of Stuart allowed this to happen. I’m guilty too. I don’t attend the council meetings as often as I should, but I do read the minutes that are published in the weekly wipe. Now we must apply for grant $, pay higher taxes and work hard to raise $ for something that our council should have already provided with the taxes we have paid toward this very project. Thank you to the people that are working hard to make these improvements happen. remember we as a community and as individuals are ultimately responsble for our city councils actions. We need to make them accountable to make decissions that are best for our whole town!!!!

  5. The gazebo is too small for any proper activities (such as Good Egg Day activities) and no one will be able to see much of what DOES go on. The “aquatic center” is too large for the land it is planned for. There seems to have been a lack of proper planning on both projects.

  7. Park Gazebo- it will be better than the “stage” but I would have preferred a band shell (like Anita’s). I just hope that the gazebo won’t be trashed by those who don’t have anything constructive to do.

Aquatic Center- it would be a great addition to the town of Stuart! It would attract more people of all ages. Who says that there isn’t enough room? Hooray for the movers and shakers who want to get this accomplished!
