A quick post

September 20, 2006 |

Some of you may be wondering where I’ve been lately. I wasn’t planning on taking so long between posts, but things have taken a turn toward the hectic here in ticketland with the Chiefs season getting going and the baseball playoffs looming. But, alas, I have a moment of freedom and what better way to spend it than sharing my thoughts.

The topic of the day is blogging. Stuart has recently seen a surge of popularity in this new phenomenon and unfortunately it seems to me it’s creating some bad vibes. As far as I’m concerned there’s room in cyberspace for all of us. There’s no need to make blogging a competition.

The beauty of blogging is that if you have something to say you can say it. Anyone (and I mean anyone) can have a blog. Some choose to use their blog for entertainment, others for education, and still others for random musings about their lives. Some choose to take responsibility for what they write while others choose a path of negligence.

So how does the average web surfer know which blog to read? Why choose? Why not read them all? If you decide at some point that a particular writing style isn’t for you or you can’t stand the way you feel after reading a post, stop reading it. Don’t go back. I doubt if anyone is putting a gun to your head forcing you to read anything. If people don’t like what I write, I don’t want them to continue to suffer reading this gibberish.

Everyone seems to know how they’d handle the police issue in town. Here’s your chance to police the blogs. If you don’t like it, don’t visit. It’s as simple as that.

-Nate

  1. Hi Nate,
I just thought that you should know that there is a certain someone that thinks his narrow minded opinions are important to our community. He thinks that he is providing the residents of Stuart a wonderful service by offering “BREAKING NEWS” HA! I believe that he is a freaking idiot! I would much rather read the info on this Blog. TLC has supposedly resigned from his weekly column at the Stuart Herald. I think that they decided that he is an idiot also. What do you think?

  5. I think if that certain someone wants to be narrow minded then so be it. I’ll leave my personal opinion out of it for now.

  11. I don’t leave many comments, but, I enjoy reading all of the comments that are made on this site as well as the Indpendent Eye. I think they are all very interesting.

We all have opinions, and we are all entitled to have them, some need to learn when to speak and when to keep their “Opinions” to themselves.

It would be great if Stuart offered everything for everybody, if that was the case no one would ever leave and we’d have nothing to bitch about.

  15. TC needs to go. ANyone who blatenly admits to wanting to encite trouble in the town he says to love is like a little queer charachter in a movie who sits in his darkened room in the middle of the night and dreams up things to do to draw attention to himself. Turns out that the charachter ends up ruining lives, professions, and in the end, himself/herself. A deviate of sorts. Sound familiar? Don’t go to his wierd blog and ignore him.

  17. Looks like TLC cant take the heat! In the middle of my commenting - he decided there was no need for anonymous comments anymore. So now you HAVE to log in.
If you cant take the heat, Tyler, stay OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!

  19. I have absolutely no problem with that decision. If you have to register and log in to comment, so be it. I don’t always agree with every single thing he says either, but if I ever feel the need to comment on his site at least he’ll know it’s from me.

Like I mentioned before, we all cater to different audiences. If you don’t like his blog then stay away from it.

  21. To anonymous Sept. 20, 8:22,
You are so right in that TLC was terminated from the paper. His rendition of the “truth” that he touts is a blatent lie.
Nate, the reason for so many anonymous comments regarding the “tard” is that once anyone puts a name to their opinion, and that TLC doesn’t agree, they are fair game for lies, made up stories, defamation, and the like. I appreciate your fair approach to you site, however just when did your site become all about the menace of Stuart? Exactly. You have a good site. You are a breath of fresh air, except for this stench that TYler Coe is creating. I say to others, don’t go to his site, and ignore, please. We should all go on and just have a great day.

  23. In case you are reading this TLC, I just thought that you should know that the 1st comment on this page was NOT from Annie or Susan.
I am not leaving my identity because I don’t want you to devise any lies or twisted versions of the truth about me or my family. Believe me I know plenty about your family, but I wouldn’t air your dirty laundry. I wouldn’t attack as you say defenseless school aged kids. I do not have respect for you and I don’t like the way you throw you words around. Tyler, why don’t you give it up? You are no better than Carol. Both of you are trying to unleash havok on our community. Stop trying to divide us. It really could all backfire and bite you in the A##. So spare us your stupid lies.

  27. Wow… I just checked out “the other blog” and holy crap. Nate, your blog is much better and not so much like the transcripts from a Jerry Springer episode. Keep up the good work. “Jerry, Jerry, Jerry…”

  29. I believe this thing is just crazy. People need to grow up and realize that the world has more to offer than stupid gossip all the time. There are better things out there to be doing then this… there are still hungry children in Africa. Although, I do like blogging, I dont believe that we should be arguing about idiodic things and we all should just get over the little things. Dont forget those Children In Africa!
