  7. Yes, it will be very interesting with the G.C. Sheriff change…will any of the current, professional staff be around, will the county have adequate law enforcement, will Ron Hrubetz jump counties again because his “man” got the job ??? G.C. had a very good sheriff and group of deputies, and now who knows what we will get. Wait, is this sounding like a soap opera happening before our very eyes. Former sheriff retires, backs deputy for the job, but years later puts the knife in his back because he works “on the side” for Stuart, now backs newcomer who has years of experience as Panora police chief, and is a good family man. Well, evidently the voters of Guthrie County wanted a new man for the job, hopefully they get their “monies” worth, we will see who gets to stay and what kind of staff he assembles.
    Good luck Roger, it has been great working with you, your presence in Stuart over the years has been greatly appreciated.

  15. in reference to the sheriff race i say good riddance to bad rubbish. good luck marty i hope baird doesn’t destroy the sheriff’s office personnel and budget before you get in there this coming january. baird got what he deserved. if you treat people badly, they vote you out :)
