I really would like to close the door on this whole Paige Williams/Pruitt family thing. Too many people are saying the same thing over and over without really saying anything at all. But before I close that door, I’d like to use a recent comment as an example of what I mean .

Anonymous here asks a question with the purpose of showing that Mr. Williams has done nothing for the community. He then gives an answer to his own question by stating that Williams has, in fact, done something for the community. There seems to be a slight conflict there. And then…
“look at his past it explains it all…”
His past explains what exactly? Does it explain where he got his money? Does it explain why he decided to buy these buildings? Does it explain that he’s still dealing and trying to take advantage of Stuart’s hospitality? Does it explain that he’s running a legit operation and really trying to help Stuart prosper?
It really makes no difference to me what side you take or what your opinions are of Williams (or the Pruitts or anyone else for that matter). What I really would like to see is opinions backed up by something…by anything really.
So here’s what I’m asking. Provide a little depth to your comments. Here are a couple of examples.
Anonymous said…I have to give Paige kudos. He’s taking a pretty big risk borrowing the money to buy these old buildings and attempting to refurbish them and get them in working order. Hopefully his hard work will give Stuart something else to be proud of in the not-so-distant future.

It’s nice to see 40+ comments in response to a post, but I’m tired of the Williams/Pruitts/Ann and Susan/Tyler/Carol are dumb/scum/fags/lesbians/liars comments. Know what I mean?

Nate, why then, would you open this up, when you, being from Stuart, know that they eat their young if given a chance? This is exactly why many go into the anonymous mode. Kapish? This is the only thing that brings conversation good or bad to the blogs. Notice one, who gets nothing now. Controversy brings conversation, as it should, in a normal situation, say sports, politics,(now there is something to throw shit about) and world news, people should be interested enough to comment. But this is Stuart. I would dare to say that from reading all this, that the number of people who are commenting on all three you can count on both hands. They need to get a job. I, too have not commented before, but do read and frankly have seen enough to not bother to read as long as this kind of crap goes on. Kinda like a soapie, you visit once a month, and it’s still the same. Guiding your blog to neutral ground was a good choice. THank you.

Hey, Nate, let’s move on. Update, go to politics or why we can’t get a new school. People who just want to grope in muck and mier can sit there. Let’s use our brains. Who gives a shit about what Andy thinks. He is a liar. He writes fiction pretty well, sure as the sun comes up, so let’s go. There is a whole world out there for us to chomp on, get the hell out of Stuart’s crap and breathe the clean air. I know the blog is about Stuart, but then even world politics affects Stuart. You know what I’m saying? I would really like to know what it’s going to take to get a new school. Do they care that little kids are going to school in the Menlo building that has been deemed unsafe? Do they care that we are academically ahead of the Winterset School District, but the facilities we teach in are depressingly retarded? This burden falls directly on the voters of West Central Valley School District , who actually do have a say. Why is it that they just don’t want to get better? Here’s one, who will win the world series?
