Oh no!

June 6, 2006 |

Whatever shall we do? Now we can’t take our backpacks to class with us. We’ll have to learn how to use our time between classes efficiently now. Maybe we’ll even have to use our lockers for storage instead of carrying our crap with us all day. I know 4 minutes is more than enough time to get everything taken care of because not all that long ago the kids only got 3 minutes between classes and they didn’t have any problems. But come on, you’re making things too hard for us! Life should be easy and we should be able to just whine about things and get our way.

Is not being able to carry your backpack in the classroom really a problem? Give me a break. Shut up and grow up. The real world is not going to pamper your sorry asses and if not being able to use a backpack is a way to show you that then so be it. Life isn’t fair. Deal with it.

  3. Down with the new administration! It is all of their faults! One more year and I’m free of Big Calves and the rest of them!

  5. Dear “Anonymous”-

You are quick to blame others for your supposed misfortune. In the past, students didn’t have backpacks to lug around and crowd the aisles between tables and desks. They had time to get from one class to another and that was when they had an 8 period day! Now with block scheduling, you only have 4 periods—just 3 or 4 classes. That translates to having to go the locker fewer times and carrying fewer books.

You are mad that you can’t carry all of your worldly possessions around the school. Gee, too bad!

Your display of disrespect for Principal Wilson indicates to me that you are self-centered and spoiled. Most likely I had you in one of my classes and very likely I am on your list of people that have made your high school years a waste of your time.

Guess what? We have now had 4 days of school and NOT ONCE have I heard ANY student complain about not getting to carry a backpack into the classroom!!!

Be prepared because reality will smack you hard in the face once you graduate. Be grateful that Mrs. Wilson and the HS faculty have worked hard to make your HS a safe learning environment. You may disagree because you won’t want to admit you are wrong.

Well, I have heard many students gripe and am confident that they are clueless.

If you bother to read this far, don’t be surprised if down the road you will realize that the people who worked in the schools actually knew what they were doing.

  7. Mr. B, you have no idea how right you are. I wouldn’t trade my high school experience for anything. I was fortunate to realize that the teachers and administration were there to help me succeed, not to hold me down.

It will be interesting to see how some of the kids fare once they leave the comforts of the high school hallways.
