…will be stopping overnight in Greenfield, not Stuart.

Would’ve been a nice shot in the arm for the local economy.

  1. I heard that a year or two ago Ragbrai wanted to do an overnight stop in Stuart but the chamber said no, they thought it would be too much liability and too much of a hassle.

  3. I heard that the chamber did not have enough members who liked bikes and beer, that’s why they said no.

    Party in G-TOWN baby!!!!

  9. The last time RAGBRAI overnited in Greenfield we served breakfast in Stuart as the bikers came through. Aside from the damp weather, it was fun. I doubt it will come through Stuart this time. The route shows 44 miles from Greenfield to Indianola, so they must be staying on highway 92.

  11. The RAGRBAI was in Stuart and was in Redfield a couple of years ago. It was a great time. On a nothing note, Satuaday was another story. How can a caoch be able to coach a team (Girls) after he was ejected from the gym during the Freshman game. Bob Hasty? I was told that he was able to coach with no problems. I have read the posts from a couple of weeks ago about athletes, what about a coach? Can the school authorities do anything about this? I will be interesting to see what the posters have to say about this.

  13. To January 30 – 12:01pm,
One of these days I two will have nothing better to do than to worry about everyone elses problems, just like you! When that day comes I’ll call you and we can get together and make a quilt and rag on everyone. I can’t wait to grow up!!!!

  15. Drink enough beer and you never will. :) Don’t worry, just be happy. We will go on without you. I absolutely don’t worry about you who choose to take that road. Just enjoy. Really. Don’t take me seriously, please. Just embibe, become an alcoholic, do embarassing stuff, neglect your responsibilities, become a comedian (people like me laugh at your shit). We need humor too, because we have no life. lol

  17. Obviously you do worry or you would not have opened your perfect little pie hole. So what your saying is that all people who drink become alcoholics and neglect their responsibilities? Wow! I think I just seen the light to all my problems! Thank you so much, you should get paid for this!

    Did your parents drink?

  19. Bob was not the only one ejected from the 9th grade game. Another parent was too.

  21. Who? was he also a coach?

  22. Anonymous on February 3, 2009 2:04 pm
  23. Pat Marks was also asked to leave the game along with Bob

  25. Not one of the almighty Marks! still doesn’t get back to the point of everyone ripping on the student athletes and then having a coach getting kicked out. we need the administration to step up and take care of the athletes and the coaches

  26. Anonymous on February 3, 2009 6:00 pm
  27. It all starts with the coach. The team is a reflection of the coach. The coach must establish what is acceptable and what is not. anyway, we all have the right answers don’t we.

  29. Its funny that if you bring up the names of Marks or Hasty then everything kind of goes away. Just like the the last post, resposibility goes with the coach, the last time I checked, Hasty is a coach and he gets kicked out of a game? 2 game suspension with no questions asked or what is the other solution? No we don’t have all the right answers but discussion is possible

  31. I was asked to be on a Ragbrai team this year, but politely declined. Despite being a bike commuter for over a year now, I figure I’d better get comfortable riding in more than 30 minute bursts before I try to ride across an entire state… :)

Sounds like I wouldn’t have seen you anyway.

  33. Hey when are they going to take the Christmas decorations out of the park? Come on Stuart Chamber.

  34. Anonymous on February 6, 2009 11:03 pm
  35. I am guessing alot of the decorations are frozen in the ground.
Now that we are getting warmer weather, they should be able to get them out soon.

  39. Any one see the Guthrie Center and WCV boys game? Will it ever end or get better?

  40. Anonymous on February 8, 2009 10:48 pm
  41. The boys played hard and even though they did not win, they came close.

  45. Nate! Where is the post to congratulate our basketball girls? I’m so happy they finally got the championship to themselves rather than having to share it. Way to go!
