…a rollercoaster baby, baby

I’ve been a little up and down lately. Let me tell you why.

-The check engine light in my truck came on while I was driving to Stuart on Sunday. The transmission is messed up. Who knows what it’s going to cost to fix it. DOWN

-I get to borrow my parents’ new truck for a few weeks. UP

-I went to the races in Stuart on Sunday. I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve been there. I had no idea how much fun it would be. It was fantastic. UP

-Everyone I talked to Sunday and Monday already knew what nobody should know yet. I should know better than to expect a hometown secret to actually stay a secret. DOWN

-The Royals have actually been winning lately. They beat the Athletics tonight by scoring two runs in the top of the ninth. UP

-They’re still 14-27. DOWN

-I met a girl on Saturday at my buddy’s wedding. We hit it off and went out again on Monday night. Do you know that feeling you get when you first meet someone and you’re really excited about it? Remember how it felt before you found out they were twice-divorced and a regular at the therapist’s office with multiple restraining orders against their exes? Yep, that’s where I’m at. Hi Emily! WAY UP

-On Tuesday morning she moved to Denver. WAY DOWN

I feel like the stock market.

There may or may not be a pretty significant announcement coming in the next couple of weeks. I hope there are a few of you left who don’t know what I’m talking about and those of you who do know better be damned excited. I’ll have more details as things get finalized.
