WCV at Audubon

*The Good – WCV’s defense was great. They made every big play that they needed to including a huge goal line stand in the second quarter and a big 4th down stop with a minute to go in the game. They also returned an interception for what ended up being the game-winning touchdown.

*The Bad – The offense struggled. Except for an early touchdown, there weren’t a lot of yards gained.

*The Ugly – Too many players had to come out of the game with cramps. I think we need to start a banana/Gatorade fund.

Congrats to the Cats for playing tough and hanging on for a 12-8 victory. Look for more of the same next week at home against Panorama.

  5. We will have more wins to come. We have good teamwork and will do well.
WE have alot of good players out there. The quarterback is very good and we have Beaman, Pease, Waddell, Stiles, Wilson, Miller and the rest doing a good job.

  7. Nate, you are right. We should have a Gatorade game. The one scheduled got cancelled because of rain. We should get another one scheduled.

  9. Wouldn’t it be great to have a nice, brand new school right South of the athletic fields for visitors to see when they come to our outside sports? Let’s get one built there!! The players could have locker rooms close and it would be a great way to make things look complete there, let alone have a new school with all it’s benefits.

  13. OMG. Can we have at least one topic that is about the school but not about BUILDING a school?

  19. I’m sick of the bond talk. I’m to the point that I will vote just to spite a certain group. If it pisses them off to read this… eh! It’ll make me laugh…

  24. Nate on September 5, 2007 6:44 pm
  25. What? He was a good man ;)

It’s kind of a long story, but it boils down to a couple buddies and I trying to make a little money. We’re greedy money hungry dirtbags.

  27. Who is Leo?

  29. I can’t really think of one quality of Falwell’s that would warrant someone to describe him as a “good man” … but, I guess if there’s cash to be made off an utter hatemonger’s death, then have at it.

I thought they made you take an ethics class at that fancy b-school? ;)

  31. The Stuart blogs are finally getting boring. Maybe they will just go away.

  32. Nate on September 6, 2007 1:30 pm
  33. Yeah, but the ethics class at Ticket Scalper U. was a little different :)

  35. I guess if you come from a family where the father was a bootlegger and not very religious and you grandfather was a staunch atheist, and then you become a promoter of a family involved in the church, there are people who will find some things about you to dislike. I was never a follower of Jerry Falwell, but he did have his own way of standing up for civil rights and like a lot of people speaking his own beliefs. As with many persons, he is to be either agreed with or disagreed with. I myself, was very unhappy with our present Pope and his declaration that the Roman catholic church is the only true church. How can any christian promote that of any denomination? Falwell was not infallible, but neither are we.

  36. marenfaye on September 7, 2007 9:05 am
  37. Actually, Falwell called the Civil Rights Act of 1964 the “civil wrongs act” and campaigned aggressively for segregation.

Regarding 9/11, Falwell blamed feminists, gays and lesbians, the ACLU, and People For the American Way, among others.

Ignoring the fact that he had no global awareness whatsoever, Falwell had no respect for anyone outside the WASP definition. He didn’t like minorities, homosexuals, transgendered people, or women that pursued any career besides wifehood/motherhood, and he made distasteful public remarks about all of these groups for decades. The man had no concern whatsoever for “standing up for civil rights.” I hold him in the same regard as I hold Fred Phelps and his cult.

  39. THat brings to mind, what is the definition of cult? Not just concerning one person, but cult in general.

  43. I realized I’d finally become someone in this world when Fred Phelps protested at my college graduation.

  44. Huh? on September 7, 2007 1:03 pm
  45. Fred Phelps didn’t think you should graduate? And how did you become so personal with him to have such a thing happen?
