Weekly Recap

July 27, 2007 |

- The wind turbine is fixed. Let’s hope the 4th time is the charm.

- Last week’s recap turned into a new debate of the same old “facts” about the new school. Feel free to throw your two cents in to the mess.

- Barry Bonds is slumping and is still 2 homers behind Hank Aaron. In case you were wondering.

Tomorrow night (Saturday) is my grand opening at Ruby’s. Let’s have a drink.

  1. What was wrong with the turbine. Do you suppose a little W-D 40 on a regular basis would help? When do you suppose Barry will overtake Hank and then who is next on the list.

  3. BB will be #1 then, although he won’t really in my mind. I’m hoping A-Rod will in time destroy the record.
My big sports passion right now is Vick.
    NEUTER MIKE VICK!!!
    What a jerk!
Don’t care if nothing has been proven. Enough evidence for an indictment to a Grand Jury tells me to hang him by his gonads and let the dogs have at him.
I WAS a big fan. What a talent, but not now!!

  5. Vick is bad news, the NBA ref is bad news, Barry is Barry. Why doesn’t Sportscenter ever open with good news? A lot of athletes donate a ton of time and money to charities, but that news is mentioned in passing at the end of broadcasts. Why? I guess for the same reason that the nightly news spends the first 15 minutes talking about murders and wars. It boosts the ratings and ratings equal money.

  7. Can’t argue that Nate. I guess it’s like a person can do 100 good things and not get much notice. But do one thing wrong and it may stay with you forever.

  9. I heard on the radio today that Curtis Martin is retiring. They told a story of him walking off the field when a 6 year old kid threw a piece of paper at him. He caught the paper and read it, it was an invitation to the kids birthday party the following Saturday. Curtis showed up much to the dismay of everyone there. Those stories should lead Sports Center….

  11. this is 2:20. point I was trying to make and didn’t was I agree with Nate and now 2:21. Most athletes are straight shooters I have to believe. It just takes a few to make them all look suspicious. The Vick thing and the NBA ref sicken me. I’m hoping the Curtis Martin story makes the national news.
