Get a different site and some realistic figures and you can print that WCV passes a bond issue.
The figures just keep getting higher like everything else. The sooner we pass a bond the cheaper it will be.
Using the East site as a reason the bond issue will not pass is BS. WE all know it is beacuse the people of this district do not like to spend money.
I would bet that they informed their public with information and non inflated numbers and I bet also they told the public the whole story the first time not in bits and pieces after they were busted. Someday I know we will pass a bond but it won’t be for the wrong reasons and the inflated #;s that are being passed off in this district.
The board has made up their mind. East side or nothing! What a waste of time and money to have all these bond votes that get us no where.
Each board member is to come up with five people for a committe to meet with Rambo to come up with another plan for where do we go from here. I am sure each board member will be TOLD who to pick so the committe is stacked the way the people from Stuart want it.
If each board member is to pick 5 people to serve on the committee, we already know the results of the informational meetings. They can count on my NO vote and if there is a consultant hired by the NO group I will donate to the cause.
Last 4 posts, I totally agree with you. We all know the game. The people picked will be for the East site and will be those who follow, not lead. This is just a cursory gesture to try to show that they are listening. You can bet it is being done at the suggestion of RAMBO. Read their site. They are the antithesis of bond busters. They work to line their pockets to get a bond passed. Then they can do the work as well. Dont’ believe for a minute Arnie*puke*(sorry), is liking this. Nor the board either. Just because they have a committee doesn’t mean they will listen. Don’t take this wrong, but why now? After hiring Rambo and not before. Why hasn’t their been committees before this? It’s a great idea. Too bad as mentioned the people picked will be carefully selected and fall into step with the powers that be. Look for a repeat of the last bond. Site wise and probably everything else. We will vote NO and NO again for anything on the East site. Also, you can bet the Panorama people got told information. The correct information the first time and not the bits and pieces as 8:08 said. We get nothing. Absolutely nothing. When you have to hire a consultant to help you pass a bond and then tell you put a committee together it’s much more revealing and upsetting then any group hiring someone. In fact, what’s the difference? Because they are elected and not smart enough to figure out things themselves. Quit listening to the quack, hot head, Superprick and do your job, board. Listen to the people for once, and not just those who agree with you. If you don’t you will have #7 behind you and waste more time than YOU and YOU alone already have. So go ahead and each of you pick your fab 5. The majority already knows what will go on. Your record and deeds proceed you. Actually, you are an open book when it comes to guessing your actions. I too will donate to a consultant for the NO group this time around if you come at us with the East site and the same old thing. I didn’t last time but I will this time and have my name on the donator’s list. If Tom Doud wants to write me a letter he can address me personally in front of a judge.
You people are the most ignorant people going if you think that your constant ranting about the East site will hold water. Grow up and get real about what this whole district really needs. You are always going to have an excuse to vote NO. Well, go ahead. You are the reason the kids have to shout “we need a new school” when the volleyball game is called due to RAIN! Simply unbelievable how shallow, simple minded crap can influence a whole community and polarize it like this. That goes for all FOUR communities, not just the east side. If the people in Stuart and Menlo want a new school so damned bad, they could have outvoted the rest several years ago. Time to get off your asses and get down to the real business of the school district instead of rehashing ad nauseum your bantering. You know who you are, and you must be oh so proud of yourselves to deny everyone of this opportunity for ALL FOUR communities to grow. GROW UP!

And it does. Only not in the way you wish it too. It just makes people more set in their ways and more people that latch on to the idea. So please keep calling names and insulting. What happened to Broman? Not getting any facts or info. one has to guess he got muzzled. Too bad. He was one who’s posts made sense, agree or disagree. I want to see the names of those picked to be on this committee published. I think we can all name about 1/2 of them.
Sorry, should have put businessmen and teachers will no doubt make up a majority. Typical committee. All fall in step with what the board and DF. Arnie wants.

It’s actually about 9 or 10 people. But the monster function is broken. I’m not smart enough to fix it. Or ambitious enough really. I’m actually just too lazy to look into it. Maybe soon.

Anonymous 6:57- I’m still here. Just been reading what the bloggers have had to say. No, I have not been muzzled. That should surprise those people who think that Dr. Arnold controls the thoughts of his employees. Far from it.
I have been shaking my head by some of the outrageous comments that have been made. It has also been depressing to think that there are people who automatically assume the new bond will be the same old thing. Many automatically assume the board will try to screw us over.
You assume, assume, assume. I, on the other hand, will wait to see what transpires.
Now, regarding the acidic comments about the committee that is being formed by the board (each member is to nominate 5 community people apiece). What is galling is that the comments and assumptions have been made without a shred of evidence or more importantly, all of the facts.
Did anyone happen to read that the purpose of the committee is purely financial? They will explore options on how to fund the bonds. In the past, some of you touted the income surtax. Just maybe that will be one of the options. This committee will not be made entirely of business men and teachers. Do you actually believe that you will be able to name half of the group prior to them getting together for the first time? This committee will not be in charge of approving Dr. Arnold’s plans for a new school.
Since many of the bloggers complained about the high price of the last proposal, this time more options will be explored in order to avoid sticker shock. Too bad some of you will consider this group a sham.
One blogger commented about how Sharon Sloss doesn’t want a combined elementary so that her Menlo building will be still superior. What a crock! Who is this person to make such a ridiculous claim? Do you actually know Mrs. Sloss? Have your kids attended the Menlo building while she was principal there?
Previous bloggers questioned her job duties claiming she is overpaid while doing less or a poor job. It is so obvious that you don’t know the whole story. While being a principal (last year having to oversee two buildings even though Mr. Fenster was her assistant) she also had the duty of being the district’s curriculum director which she has held that position for several years. Just more stress.
Let’s move on to the item about the gym roof leaking. I was there when it happened and one of my first thoughts was that there will be those who claim that the school was negligent when it comes to maintaining the buildings. When I read stuff like that I have to suppress language that won’t make things any better on this blogsite.
If a leak develops in your roof, is it because you were faulty in maintaining it? The storm in question that night, dumped 1+ inches of rain in a short time. The gym’s roof is flat and the water could not drain fast enough. Lo and behold, some of the water found an imperfection. Under other circumstances (a gentle rain perhaps), that leak might not have evolved.
The same people jump on the bandwagon that since the HS has a leak in the gym roof, that thte building is now not suitable for an elementary. It has too many problems. The story goes on and on.
Well, folks, I still support the east site and it won’t surprise me if the board comes back with a plan still involving that site. The building plan will be different, the cost will be different, etc. It just makes sense since the land is already bought. I seriously have doubts about the land south of the high school baseball diamond. I doubt that there is enough room for a large building (even if it is 2 stories), a larger gym, weight room, wrestling room, shop facilities, larger kitchen and lunchroom and parking.
I know many of you will disagree with me, but so be it. If you are going to lambast someone or something, please make sure you are informed.
Being informed is easy for you to say. Where is all of the information you just posted printed? We have to assume because if we are lucky we get one little newsletter a month and the school site says nothing. We don’t happen to take the paper, that’s our mortal fault isn’t it? Talking to a board member is like having to interrogate someone. You can’t get a straight answer. I’ve been on a few committees myself and it’s just as someone mentioned. It will be made up(the majority at least) of school personnel, businessmen who agree with Yes for anything, and I would bet my savings Eric Tiernan will be on it. It’s destined to not have any ordinary Joe’s or Mary’s on it. See the general public is just too stupid. Just read some of the posts and go from the board and Supt.’s actions. Maybe the East site will pass. I for one would just like to be kept informed. It’s not right being kept in the dark. Thanks for the info. Tod. We all got more from your post than in 6 months or more from the admin. or reading the minutes. I have posted several times and read all of the posts. I love the vitriolic comments about Arnold. He deserves every one and more. So thanks again Tod, but don’t blame us too much for not having all the facts. You are there and live it. We aren’t and are in the dark about everything. It’s very obvious to me that Arnold doesn’t know what he is doing and even with a bonding attorney, screwed the last vote over with board approval. So don’t be surprised is the recommendation is close to what your hated group had in mind. Please, if you can, be open minded yourself.
You have got to read the Dallas County news today. It’s a big article and as usual Arnie is running his PHD mouth along with our overpaid secretary. He needs to go. He brings nothing to our district except lies and laughs. The article is about our support staff and how they want to get paid on a 12 pay period again. Lisa says they had to go to 9 months because some people would collect their check then not work the hours they were paid for. She should know she hasn’t been logging all her vacation for over a year now. Talk about screwing our district. They are both the pot calling the kettle black.
Why does this news appear in the Dallas County News and not the Stuart Herald?
Because the Herald is scared to wrute stories that might make people mad. Why do you think it’s mostly church stuff?

Amen to that–pun intended. Then when there is an article in the Stuart paper, people ask why don’t you take the paper, it’s nobody’s fault but your own you don’t know. HAAAH, what a joke. The school doesn’t put out any meaningful information but put this crap out.

It not being the the so called Stuart paper by the way which happens to be THE OFFICIAL SCHOOL PAPER Arnie puts out an email to the staff following the board meetings. He sure didn’t mention this in his email. Or did he in your email Tod?? Arnold IS NOT open minded with is staff nor is he consistent in his lying!!! He needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut as most of the time he cannot back up his lies. He must have volumes of ledgers keeping track of this continous lies. I agree he needs to go!! Speaking of Arnold why s it he is the highest paid staff (joke)and we have yet to see him at a football game. What he needs more money to be there!!!

I was made aware of the issue between the non-certified staff and Dr. Arnold through an employee who attended the school board meeting.
I also glanced at the article that was in the Dallas County News.
Of course you had to read it in the dallas county news it sure as hell does not get repeated on this side of the district orput in the official school paper. The one that thought it was so news worthy to put the names of the people who gave in support of Paul Door and the farce of a bond Arnie had going. That paper needs to close its doors. It works for the special few in town and for Arnie.
Sad to say the local paper has been reduced to selling ads and not concentrating on the local news. You might as well call it a “shopper” and not a “local newspaper”. I know many buy the ads in the hopes of supporting a local business but sooner or later that will stop.
Hope the paper is paying proper postage because if a paper has so much percentage of ads, they have to pay a higher rate. Maybe someone should alert Shirley & the Postmaster in Des Moines. Just to make sure everything’s as it should be.
What paper? Stuart has no paper. Just as was said. I’m from Stuart, but I’m for making the Dallas Co. News the official paper. At least they seem to print articles and therefore do some work to get the news. I’m thru buying the rag they call the Stuart Herald. It’s Arnies’ paper anyway. He seems to get what he wants and doesn’t want in it. Oh, By the way.
He isn’t a PhD, he’s an EdD. Big difference in my book. Doctor is synonymous with health care as I was raised. Not being screwed by some jerk who couldn’t break the transition from school to the real world and still hasn’t. But then again, why should he? He does anything he wants and gets by with it. Investigated and a slap on the wrist, but then a few months later a contract extension and $14000 in his retirement fund. I have wondered for sometime if we pay his gas and him mileage as well. I thought maybe I was the only one who noticed he is never at any football games. Guess he needs to be relaxing after a tough day. It’s hard work screwing 4 towns to death and keeping a board under your thumb. He’s probably home getting drunk in his big Ankeny home and bragging to his buddies how he’s working us dumb hicks over. Just a guess, but I can see it being done.
I find it interesting the information the StuartOFFICIAL paper prints regarding the board minutes. tHEY report things that do not happen at the meeting. I attended the meeting last time from the beginning to the end and it was reported that information was requested from the new firm they hired to oversee the next bond. But I was there and it was never discussed. I checked with the paper and they said they print the articles that Arnie gives them. But when I checked with arneie he siad he does not supply them with articles. Who do you suppose is LYING!!!! ARNIE!!!!!!
