They sign a contract just like the teachers, don’t they? Then tell me why they have to be paid differently. If what Lisa said in the paper is true about some not working the hours after they are paid for them that just seems to me to be a manager problem.. The same manager that oversees Lisa and her absences. They should be treated no different. They are already paid embarrisingly low and do work of a babysitter. Babysitters make more than these para educators do. We want a new high school like the big schools but face it we are still in STUART!!!! They aren ‘t exactly knocking down the doors to get in the town.

How can this be? School started on the 23rd, payroll ends on the 10th and then checks are cut on the 20th. So you have worked 12 days (the para does not get holiday pay), unless you took some time off that is what you are paid for when the check is cut on the 20th.
How can this statement be true? How hard can it be to figure out how many school hours x hourly wage / 12 months? If you miss a unpaid day during one of the working monthsof the school year that that would be docked from that months payroll. Does that seem that hard?

I missed the paper with the comments Lisa was supposed to have made, of course. I do not understand the previous post though, that she said the para educators were (not working the hours after they were paid for them). I thought a person got paid AFTER they had worked. I never felt she was too smart anyway. I agree with 6:34, how hard can it be?

I prefer apple crisp to peach cobbler.
I know some local orchards grow apples, and if we ate more apple crisp it would help the local economy and the extra tax money collected would help pay for a new school. And it should be build close to the orchards, since that is where the tax money is coming from.
Also, I think if we grew apples on the site of the old middle school building, the school lunch ladies could use them to make healthy, fresh lunch items and then people wouldn’t have to go eat fast food.

I was hoping I would have the dream again last night, but not a go. I thought two nights in a row, might mean one, at least, might resign. In my original dream, Lisa was the first to resign and Arnold just couldn’t stand it without her, so he confessed his LUUUUUUVV for her and the rest, shall we say, was disgusting at best. Except, of course, that they both left us and things all of a sudden magically got well with the school.
Nawww, neither will resign, they will have to be forced out. They know a gifthorse when they see one. They do as they please, when they please, step on toes, and have no consequences, while making big bucks. So why would they leave, except in a dream? I guess the truth of the dream, in all reality, is that the general public is the one who is actually REALLY getting screwed.

Holy Crock! Now for the other half of the dream to come true!!! IF ONLY!! HMMM! Wonder what the petition and how things had been taken care of had something to do with it? If it did then Arnie needs to eat crow and shove his head where the sun doesn’t shine. What the hey, he should do that anyway. He would be better then. Be a total shitface and asswipe instead of a 99.9% one. That would match his personality totally.

God bless the new member of Des Moines school board. He is really bringing to light a few things. He says, “why should they just vote on a 200 page document they haven’t even read?”. Why are they voting and okaying payment on bills when they haven’t seen it or know exactly what it is for? Is this what the typical school board member does? If they hold their meetings just to vote and okay what a superintendent has laid out for them, then why even bother to have a board? They have volunteered to do a job. They no doubt volunteer for other things. I am betting two to one, they do twice the work and put more effort into other volunteer jobs than they do this one, when all they think to do here is spend taxpayer money. What a great representative the new guy on the Des Moines school is. Of course it will take a little more time than one hour for a board meeting, but isn’t it time they knew what they were doing? When you volunteer by putting your name on the ballot, you are making a commitment to serve the taxpayers. Quit serving the superintendent.
We definitely need more people like Jonathan Narcisse on the WCV school board and the Stuart City Council. I have been following his career for some time now and have nothing but admiration for the man.
10:22 you’re sooo right. Right now we could use just one!! He is what a board member is supposed to be. The only reason their is a school board is because it operates with tax money. But in WCV’s case, there’s really no reason to have one. Let Arnie take the heat when something goes wrong. These people on our board seem to forget it’s their names that go on record as having voted the way they do. Arnie’s name isn’t mentioned. Way to go Jonathan Narcisse, I bet the other board members were thinking about hiding!! I love it! The DM Supt. surely got a shock as well!!
I wouldn’t even call most of the meetings held here official meetings. Less than a hr. nothing can be discussed. Just call to order, listen to a few speak, vote and approve 7-0, adjourn and go home. After all, Arnie can’t be out too late at night. He might have a curfew from a parole officer. Never know about this dude. EdD may stand for educational drunk driver or educational dipshit Diva. That’s it!!! Arnies’ a DIVA! LMAO!!

He is just showing how totally stupid he really is. I read in the Redfield paper where a concerned parent approached him about the demolition of the building and the kids having to walk in the street around the busses and he told her to get an alternate route. Now this is from the mouth of the man running our district and looking out for our children. He’s just pissed at Redfield that they exposed him for what he really is. A liar!!! He lies to this day!
That’s the problem being a liar. He(Arnie) doesn’t have the mind to remember everything he says. I truly believe he lies more than he tells the truth. Lieing Lisa is gone. I can only pray Arnie would go the same route. But we all know that isn’t going to happen. Here’s a copy/paste from another post———

I find it interesting the information the StuartOFFICIAL paper prints regarding the board minutes. tHEY report things that do not happen at the meeting. I attended the meeting last time from the beginning to the end and it was reported that information was requested from the new firm they hired to oversee the next bond. But I was there and it was never discussed. I checked with the paper and they said they print the articles that Arnie gives them. But when I checked with arneie he siad he does not supply them with articles. Who do you suppose is LYING!!!! ARNIE!!!!!!
We pretty much ALL know he lies all the time. I don’t have a clue why the board stands for it. They are just figureheads who must enjoy the limelight or something. I assume Lisa sent the minutes into the paper, but Arnie has oversight and it’s part of his job whether he likes it or not. He is sooooo overpaid it’s pathetic. I’ll bet Lisa isn’t replaced. He just might have gotten the message from the board and from comments that one person with a little help should be able to do the job. Especially for what they pay them. She wasn’t doing anything anyway, except the minimum and then as she pleased. Wanna bet the board will come up with some severance for her? They hopefully won’t, but they throw money around Arnie’s way like it’s water. Also Sloss’s way. Now there is a trouble maker–Sloss! She sure did a CYA telling Arnie there was a petition being circulated so he could be lying in wait for Linda Sudbrock. The principal’s are in charge of their building. She should have gotten on top of the situation herself and found out what was going on and told Linda the proper way to do it. Then if Sloss did nothing, Linda could say she used the chain of command. Instead, she chose the easy way and ratted out her employees. Would be nice working for her, huh? Keep after it Linda, I doubt if you realize the support you have. If Arnie badmouths you just one more word, at the least, turn him in to the ethics committee. I’m sure his name is well known there. Also, the thought of a nice little lawsuit involving him and Sloss might jog some board members to move their collective butts and do something. Bottom line is he is out of control. Tod Broman can say what he wants, but Arnie is out of control. He needs to be gone. There is more than enough reason for him to be fired.
Why not refer to *him!* as *Mr.* Arnold instead of *Arnie*. It gives those who don’t know him a false sense of his name. Of course, you could just call him *Davey*. Either way it is sure to upset him.

I am glad Lisa is leaving the district. Hope they hire an outsider who is qualified for the position. Time to get some new blood to take care of things.
I would hope a good secretary with cpa abilities is considered. This is a board decision, and ARNIE should have no input on this job. I have been thinking about the petition to get para educators back on the 12 month pay period. They really should consider that tax wise it will be better to be paid over nine months. Checking the IRS rule 409A, ALL teachers may be wanting to be paid for the months they actually work and not have any pay deferred. They won’t be affected this year, but it may be wise to open a special savings account and put that extra amount they would get each month into it for use during the summer months.
Gee, Tod! Hit a nerve or something? You’re welcome to say anything you want. I’m very close to the situation as you are and see things a little differently than you, usually. So let that be all that’s said on that subject. Kind of hurt to hear and see the truth in writing? Evidently, because your posts are always much more prolific in wordage than in your last. I did notice you didn’t bother to counter anything that was said. I believe everyone probably did. I’ll continue calling him Arnie because others do. I need my job too badly to be identified in any manner. But, Mr. Davey needs to be sent down the road, before this district finds itself with more problems.

I get a little testy when my name is suddenly brought up for no apparent reason. Then anonymous740-3 takes me to task for my sarcasm and digs claiming that I am showing the “real” me. Do you know me that well to make that assumption?

Anonymous 7:28 reaffirmed my suspicions that he/she is a disgruntled employee who has an axe to grind with Mrs. Sloss (along with Dr. Arnold).
You questioned whether I was “hurt” to see and hear the “truth” in writing. No. You claim what you say is the “truth”. How or why should I believe you when you identify yourself as “anonymous” even though you state that you want to keep your job? In all seriousness, you could be fibbing.
My short reply doesn’t mean that I don’t have anything to say. Why bother saying anything more when your mind is made up? It would be just a waste of time.

OK, Tod. I am an employee, but not a tenured one like you. Therefore, I can’t be as open and/or brazen as you are. What I state is the truth as I and others see and feel it happen. I’m not disgruntled nor have a personal axe to grind. I’m telling it like it is for those other than yourself and your tenured co-workers, who can do things and get by with them we can’t. You are good friends with Sharon and evidently the Supt., so I expected the response you gave and continually give. After hearing and finding out more about the situation with Linda Sudbrock, there are many things several of us would like to bring to light but can’t for fear of reprisal and possibly losing our jobs. At the bare minimum, having a letter put in our file. In conclusion, go ahead and say what you feel. It’s your right. We don’t have that right except to do it anonymously. You are very aware of what we can and can’t say. There are those of us who do disagree with you on many things. You’re protected by the union and your tenure. I highly doubt if you would go very far in protecting and fighting for our rights in speaking the truth of untenured employees and some of the support staff. So general public, use your own sense of feel in grasping what is really going on at school and with the admininstration. I have a feeling you already have a good perception of what is happening and transpires. Just as an aside, there is more than one of us using the same computer to post. So even with a dynamic IP there are more people than you think commenting.

If I were in your position, I would probably be more than paranoid. Broman, I’m losing a lot of trust in you, to be honest. Your sarcastic and condescending crap doesn’t play well with me. You always, ALWAYS, take Sloss’s and Mr.Davey’s side of things. Plus you are yes for anything and the East site. So I guess we disagree on about everything. Hell, you just may be “fibbing” yourself, on a lot of this crap you put out on how wonderful the admin. is and how we should just play follow the leader, cause that’s the best way. If I had to work with you and if you are the union rep., which I know you were at one time. I would constantly be watching my back.
