Weekly Recap

November 16, 2007 |

- The snow is coming…to northern Iowa. I can keep wearing my shorts for now.

- Charles Willard will be paroled next June according to the Guthrie Center Times. This is a guy that deserves to serve his full sentence plus some if you ask me.

- Moving west a few miles…the Kalbach Oil man is getting a makeover. He probably deserves it. He’s over 70 years old!

Stuart lost some good eggs this week. Take a minute over the weekend and think about those important to you. Try to appreciate the time we all have here.

Until next time…Rock Chalk!

  1. it is good to hear that the sign is getting fixed up. it is a great piece of history to be preserved. It would be a shame to lose it to the ravages of time.

  19. Sarah was a beautiful person. I didn’t know her well, but she always was what you would hope you and your children could be like.

  21. I never once heard anything bad about Sarah Wolfe. It was all very positive. That goes to show what kind of a person she was.
She was so nice and sincere as is her husband and children.
    We will miss her.

  23. The best way to honor Sarah is to copy her. We would all be better people and our communities would be better for it. We will miss her and others like her who have passed. They put everyone else first.

  31. How many chances doe Kurt Kalbach think he is going to get? They need to lock him up for good.
How many arrests does this make for him?

  33. Pray for those with problems. Pray that you have no one subjected to an addiction. Be it alcohol, drugs, smoking, sex, overeating, purging, or anything else that is detrimental to your well being. Kurt was a very nice young man who sadly got caught up with the wrong people, solutions to problems, and it is a very sad situation. I have known many people from this area who have had problems, and their families are suffering as well.

  35. But how many chances does Kurt need? Doesn’t he realize he can do hard time for this?
If his addiction is this bad, he should have gotten help a long time ago.
Bu, I assume he is just the supplier for our kids. He is getting them addicted. For that, I can not feel sorry for him.
