I too think that Menlo’s motto is one to live by. The person that thought that up, obviously grew up around here and know what menlo as a community is or atleast was. A great little town!!! I cherish the days I spent at my grandparents in Menlo, they were the rocks that helped build that community, and would be hurt to see it in the shape it is now. (a lil run down) Although I believe that most of the people that live there, are good people trying to keep it as well as they can.

OMG, WTF are you talking about? Are you threatening Jodi? What’s wrong with waving? The Gas Station Man is cool! Parades are fun. I remember when everybody you drove past in a car or folks just out walking waved at everybody even if they didn’t know who you were. I still wave at every car I pass. Not many wave back now days. I think that Jdub is paranoid. Menlo also has a great town slogan(“Home to Few, Friend to All”) Too bad that we can’t try to live by this motto.

That’s an excellent point Jodi. Parades tell our kids that it’s okay to take candy from strangers. As parents, we can never be too careful.

I waved at that guy every day on my way to elementary school. I guess I should feel lucky that I never got kidnapped…? Call me crazy, but I’m pretty sure that most kids can tell the difference between a twelve foot tall sign and a guy that deserves the “stranger danger” shout. Did Johnny Gosch pass through Menlo before he went missing? I guess I missed that one.

jdub, what are you sniffing at 1:09 in the morning? Thats rediculous to think waving at a
tall neon metal man is the same as a child getting in a strangers car.

Gas Station Man is setting a terrible example for our area youth. When I was a kid my parents taught me to never wave to strangers, yet now boys and girls will think it’s alright to do so once they see Gas Station Man doing it. Might as well tell Jr “Sure, go ahead and take a ride in that ominous looking Chevy Van circa 1987. That driver seems trustworthy, he’s only offering your daughter candy.”

Or worse yet, they might think that all gas station workers are nice and harmless people when in fact most of them are creeps and low lifes.

It’s a slippery slope and before you know it Sally is sniffing glue behind townie bar dumpsters. The fact that there isn’t more of an outcry in our communities over Gas Station Man is simply astonishing.

Or worse yet, they might think that all gas station workers are nice and harmless people when in fact most of them are creeps and low lifes.

People like John Slayton cost the taxpayers alot of money. $5900. damage to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s dept. equipment. Who pays?

I heard that the Stuart radio station told who was arrested with shooting up the speed sign on the East edge of Stuart a month or so ago.

Hey Nate, Too bad your dad retired from the city. Otherwise he would have had the generator fired up and I wouldn’t have had so much water in my basement. On the north side of town, the eletricity has off for about 5 hours. My sump pump stopped, but the rain kept on a coming. Thank God it stopped before it ruined my furnace and hot water heater. I really miss your dad’s diligence!!! He had pride in his work. I hope that he will train the guy that’s taking over for him on the generator. They can fill the vacancy, but they can’t replace your dad. He Rocks!
