Weekly Recap

August 29, 2008 |

- Mediacom got the Big Ten Network! Mediacom got the Big Ten Network

- The Cyclones started their season off with a big win against an overmatched (even against Iowa State) South Dakota State team by a score of 44-17. They might not score 44 points the rest of the year.

- The West Central Valley football team begins their season at home tonight against Earlham at 7pm. Good luck fellas!

- The Royals still suck.

- West Central Valley is the recipient of a new basketball scoreboard. It’s a wonder we haven’t had to replace it sooner after the way I used to light it up. I did actually score 15 in a varsity game once.
Have a good Labor Day. Come see Dusty Baird play at Ruby’s Sunday night.

  5. The Dudley boys were awesome. Cameron Marks had a good night also.

It is too bad the Miller boys have to have their fits and cuss in front of fans. they should be kicked out of the game when they act that way.

  17. You are correct about Tanner. I just noticed one fit but there have been fits in previous years.
The coach needs to pull those kids out when they do stuff like this but he never does.

  23. pease may have an attitude but he is also one of the best recievers in class 1-a and one of the most important players on the team, without him they would be in trouble… its nice you can talk about him as an anonymous person on a blog too

  25. even the good players have to be accountable.
The Hawkeye players have learned that.

  27. I believe that Tanner probably is a great receiver, haven’t seen him play. Coaches need to smash this asap or it is going to affect the team. I don’t give a shit if i have a all-american on my team, if he is going to act like a baby i will treat him like a baby w/ a timeout! Do some soul searching figure out if you want to lead by example or make a soap opera out of the season? Good Luck to the team stay focused and bust ass!

  29. if tanner will get himself under control he will be an even better player. the coaches do need pull him aside and discipline him a little, they cant let him keep getting away with it… he needs to step up and be a leader on that young team to set a good example

  31. my son is on the team and has nothing but praise for Tanner. He has been a good role model and a good friend. He treats the freshman with respect and I appreciate that.
