Sportsmanship was great and fans were great.
It was a good game to be at.
Any Wildcat fan would have been proud of the team last night and the Seniors were real leaders.

  31. 3:25:you know what they say, people that complain all the time have too big of a mouth to actually get involved to help.

  33. 3:25 - just because the two men choose to be on the City Council does not mean that their wives are not also qualified, nor capable of, holding offices. I think Stuart is lucky that we have young people who are willing to get active and involved in reinvesting in their communities. Why must everything be viewed as negative? I have heard that Genese has strong qualifications for the school board, so why wouldn’t she use those skills to benefit our district?

  34. Anonymous on October 19, 2008 7:11 pm
  35. what are her qualifications?

  36. anonymous on October 20, 2008 2:12 pm

  39. 7:11 - I know she has a 4 year degree in Business, and I remember that she worked at Iowa State University for the President before they moved back to Stuart. I also know she helped with the bond vote because it was important for the kids of our district.

  49. 4:59 Do you have a 4 year business degree? I would not consider a 4 year degree something to laugh at.
Jenyse was THE secretary to the President of Iowa State University.
She is also very good at writing grants.

  50. Anonymous on October 22, 2008 12:16 pm
  51. What grants has she written and been awarded?

  53. Whoever is in charge of the West Central Sports Complex in Stuart should enforce a “No Animal’s Allowed”. Kids are practicing and playing soccer/football and many of them come off the fields with dog feces on their shoes. What kind of people take their dogs to a place where kids are running and falling when they are competeing/practicing sports. My kid got into the car after practice and had dog crap on her shoes. With the heater in the car going it really smelled good until we got home to clean it off the shoes.
Think people before you take your dog over. Take a bag with you to pick it up or go somewhere else - like your own yard.

  54. anonymous on October 22, 2008 8:39 pm
  55. yes there some daycare provider that takes her dogs everywhere and lets them crap. Its reall tireing and disrespestful

  58. Thankful in Earlham on October 23, 2008 12:03 pm
  59. It’s wonderful when the Voices of Stuart speak! It’s like a glowing recommendation for the surrounding communities. Who in their right mind would enroll a child in WCV Schools? Menlo, Greenfield, Dexter, Redfield, and Earlham take note and use this as a promotional site for your own towns. It’s a weekly reminder of why NOT to live in Stuart.

    Keep up the good work!

  61. sorry-

Do you know how much a coach puts into his/her job? I do. My dad is a teacher and was a coach for many of my childhood years. I realized at an early age that my daddy was spending time with YOUR kids, teaching them skills and values that they could take with them when they graduated. I have learned SO many things from Mrs. Salazar and I respect her so much. I think it is often hard for parents to understand why their child is not playing or something of the sort. When we sign up for a sport, we ultimatly realize that we are there to make the team better, that we are there to support the team. We know that it can’t always be about ME. That it needs to be about WE.

I also think that you don’t give the students in the school district enough credit sometimes. Perhaps you think we don’t hear about the things you say. Perhaps you don’t understand that we also have opinions. I always thought it was funny that the adults couildn’t get past the Stuart-Menlo/Dexfield issue. Walking through the hallway, I NEVER say someone as “from the other side of the district” and I don’t know any student who does. I find it funny that students can get past these issues, but the adults can’t seem to.

No matter what your opinion on the issues that have been presented, you need to think before you type. High school students read this, parents read it, WCV graduates read it, and even people from other schools read it. How are the students from WCV supposed to be united in the things they do when the adults aren’t? How are they supposed to get along when you can’t? Think of the example you are setting. Badmouthing others and using vulgar language is NOT setting a good example. And attacking a family’s values is stooping pretty low too. They may not be the same as yours, but sharing your opinion in such a hurtful way isn’t acceptable.

I’ll be back tomorrow for senior night and it’d be great to see the Wildcat seniors supported by everyone, no matter what you think about their behavior or personal actions. Good luck boys, I’ll be cheering you on!

  65. Apparently my first post didn’t go through :/

As you can see from the post above, word about this site is starting to get around. I heard about it way up here in Cedar Falls and I think it is sad that our school is getting recognized for such negative and hurtful things.

First, I would like to say that at the beginning of each season we did sign a Good Conduct Policy. It was always sort of a boring task, but we all knew what was expected of us. I don’t know what happened, but if a student violates the GCP, then it should be honored. Also, when a student athlete commits to a sport, he/she should know that they are officially putting their team FIRST. That means that their wants may not always be met because that is what is best for the team. This should also mean that they should respect the coach’s decisions if they support the team. A personal opinion of a coach should not get in the way of how much effort a player exerts or how much they give to their team.

I also believe that until you’ve walked in someone’s shoes, you should keep your opinions to yourself. Do you know how many out-of-classroom hours are spent on your child’s education? Hours that could be spent with children, spouses, and other family?

They love dirty laundry. -Don Henley

Sad but true. Post something positive on the blog and anonymous posters don’t touch it.
    BTW, Nice post Hannah

  71. Actually, thankful in Earlham, I don’t believe you actually have enough to do in your town. Evidently you enjoy shadowing surrounding towns that have activity and websites. Do you not know how to buildyour own? WCV is building for the future, two new schools and two renovated while you cram everyone into a three story facility. I thought Earlham was a place of class and integrity, but obviously not the way you handle yourself. Good luck to you as you have peaked, maybe you should open enroll your kids in WCV since we’re the future. Good luck and God bless.

Oh BTW (that means by the way):
They offer dual-credit classes to help build websites also, let the super know if you’d like to enroll since you don’t have immediate access to them.

  73. I heard Earlham was having financial problems and talking to Winterset to consolidate?

  75. Ha, again I say business degree ha. Four years in a business program, is something to laugh at. Even an MBA is a joke these days. And believe me, I have well beyond a four year degree.
