-Today in History: On this date in 1933 the 18th Amendment was repealed officially ending Prohibition.
- The Stuart police department is back down to three officers. Officer Martin Miller is leaving after a short 3-month stint.
- Orenthal is going to prison. The Juice will serve at least 9 years and up to 33 for his role in an armed robbery at a Las Vegas Hotel.

I thought Miller did a a good job patroling and seeing what was going on. I am surprised he is leaving.

surprised he is leaving, you should be surprised that they all aren’t leaving….lowest paying pd in 2 counties, no over time pay, 12 hr shifts, no on call pay. they get screwed.
Two out of 99 counties isn’t much of a comparison.
i haven’t checked the other 90, but i assure you that polk, dallas, madison, green, carroll, cass, and pottowatamie county pd’s pay far better and have better benefits. why do you think that this town has such a ridiculously high turn over rate? not to mention the overwhelmingly low support from the citizens they are paid to support. come save me, but screw you if you actually want paid to be here on holidays, and when you have to be here taking calls, or if you work more than 40 hrs a week…..
