Weekly Recap

July 10, 2009 | 9 Comments

- Are you “dedicated to promoting equal opportunity for a quality public education to enrolled students and toward being responsive to the educational needs, values, and aspirations of citizens?” Then run for West Central Valley Board of Education. Current members with expiring terms this year: Doug Wiles in District 3, Marty Doud in District 4, Mick Askren in District 6, and Jenyse Belden in District 7. Candidates have until July 30 to file.

- If you’re feeling brave and have a little weight to lose head to Valley West Mall on July 25 for a “Biggest Loser” casting call. I usually like watching this show for the first few weeks, but gradually lose interest as the contestants get smaller than me.

- The Stuart Library is gone. The building is gone anyway, and constructionon on the new building has already started. The library hopes to open in the temporary location, the Stuart Town Hall, by July 20.

- Should Michael Jackson be butterized? Vote at the Iowa State Fair website.

Golfing, racing, and live music. Should be a good weekend :)

  1. New library…that seems somewhat ridiculous. Does anyone use the Stuart Library? Better yet, does anyone look at this site?

  13. WAIT WAIT WAIT a minute, these stories ain’t got nothing on the fact that vinnie brown really should be starting. look at the kid, he’s an athlete. he went to basic training he is in way better shape than everyone else. if not starting him on defense, we all no that before games he punts the farthest of all the so called “punters” so lets all give that “head coach” our thoughts on that kid…. Vote for Nyle Godwin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. if thats vinnie brown posting that then i agree with you vinnie. im on your team and you are by far the best punter. except for maybe cody or travis. but they’re not punters. and if its not vinnie, i still agree with you. he is our best punter. but the reason he doesnt start is because hes missed so many practices and he doesnt know the plays i think. but i want your guys opinions, who are the 5 best players on the JV?
