Weekly Recap

March 30, 2007 |

KU lost in the Elite 8 on Saturday.

I’ve lost zero pounds since February 2.

The kids of West Central Valley lost on Tuesday.

It’s Final Four weekend and I’ve lost all hope of a successful bracket.

But on a positive note, Royals Opening Day is Monday. REO Speedwagon is singing the National Anthem, and I can’t wait.

Have a good weekend everyone. Wear blue on Monday.

  1. the real question is why marlis was behind the cop shop desk last night.

  2. Anonymous on March 30, 2007 8:57 am
  3. maybe marlis was the one that got hauled off in the ambulance because she had too much fun with stout!!! we could only wish it was her that got hauled off!!!

  4. Anonymous on March 30, 2007 9:25 am
  5. What time last night? I seen a few cars there late and a lady in sitting in there but I don’t know who it was. Was it really Marlis? I thought the cops weren’t supposed to have their friends in there. Is Stout really starting this again? You thought he would have learned by now…

  7. Nate, you can’t lose weight if you don’t try. ;)

And I got all Final 4 picks right. Betta believe it!

  8. Nate on March 30, 2007 10:18 am
  9. I did try. I quit drinking for 2 or 3 days and I ran once.

  10. TOM GODWIN on March 30, 2007 11:06 am
  11. You don’t have to quit drinking. Whiskey and water works just fine. Not much calories in either. As far as exercise. I jump to conclusions.

  12. Nate on March 30, 2007 11:46 am
  13. I had a little falling-out with whiskey a while back. We’re not allowed out in public together anymore.

  14. TOM GODWIN on March 30, 2007 12:53 pm
  15. Been there, done that. But I let by gones be by gones.

  16. Nate on March 30, 2007 12:55 pm
  17. Maybe I’ll see what the ol’ whiskey is doing tonight.

  18. ec on March 30, 2007 2:57 pm
  19. I got a better idea… stick with beer. I don’t want to have to take care of you or get a call at odd hours because you’ve decided to walk home!

  20. Nate on March 30, 2007 3:09 pm
  21. You can probably expect a call tonight.

  22. tom godwin on March 30, 2007 3:11 pm
  23. ec is right Nate. In fact, we probably shouldn’t be promoting the use of alcoholic beverages anyway. There might be some impressionable young people reasding this blog, and we need to set a good example. So here it is, “Don’t drink and drive,” You hit a pothole, you’ll spill it all over you. Besides, I read somewhere that a man is hit by a drunk driver every 15 minutes. Now I don’t know who this guy is, but he may be in the Kansas City area waiting to jump in front of your car, so watch out for him. You can’t miss him, he’s all messed up.

  24. Nate on March 30, 2007 3:16 pm
  25. I think I’ve hit him before. I don’t really remember though.

  26. Ryan Beaman on March 30, 2007 5:36 pm
  27. I think he has a relative in Columbus. He might be out in full force tomorrow night with the aforementioned Final Four celebrations. O-H! (C’mon…give me an I-O!)

  29. I hear t-shirts are being made with the list of people who paid the bond buster. I’m sure it will have a catchy slogan…hmmm.

  32. Tod Broman on April 3, 2007 6:51 am
  33. I still haven’t had anyone respond (appropriately) to my legitimate question…how was the proposed HS too big? Where was the wasted space?

    We have 26 faculty members: 3 Soc. Studies, 3 math, 3 science, 3 language arts, 1 spanish, 3 resource, 1 business/comp., 1 FCS (Home Ec.), 1 art, 1 Ag, 1 wood shop/const. tech, 1 At-Risk, 1 Guidance, 1 vocal, 1 band and 1 PE. Please take that into consideration.

  34. anonymous on April 3, 2007 4:05 pm
  35. Mr.Broman, this isn’t a smartmouth answer although it will sound like one. It is sincere. Where it was oversize was the price.
Plus the Supt.’s misquotes and changing his figures had a lot confused. Then the state came out that enrollment will be declining. I can’t argue any point. I do think it was oversized in the price and on the site no one prefers. Not pertinent to your question, I know, but no one else was stepping up trying to answer. I did but couldn’t directly answer your question as you want. Sorry.

  37. Just call and ask her what she was doing in the office. As many people were seen in the office as well. KV, BA a patient and several more there must have been a reason. Instead of playing the guessing game just ask. May not be as fun, but remember glass houses?

  38. Anonymous on April 4, 2007 8:52 pm
  39. this is as interesting as the comment i heard about kv and ba getting run out of the basement for making too much noise playing on the old mattress down there.

  41. “The kids of West Central Valley lost on Tuesday”.
Your wrong, it was the special interest group (gang of 3) that lost on Tuesday.

  42. anonymous on April 10, 2007 6:34 am
  43. What is your plan, Tyler? Obviously, the proposed one that has failed 6 times isn’t going to pass. What are your ideas?
What are Tod’s ideas? We have to face the fact the proposals aren’t going to pass as they have been offered to us. Let’s shift the weight to you guys. Most of us don’t have time to check on things. I’m off to work and get home at 7, like a lot, so that leaves little or no time to do much, if any checking.
This was posted on Tylers’ blog and never got a reply. I’m wondering too what his plans are. He and Tod are great at running people down who aren’t in the ‘vote yes for anything’ crowd. I haven’t seen them stepping forward with any new ideas. The hate venom is just turning people off and probably losing yes votes everyday. I for one am becoming increasingly enlightened as to how much the board and admin. has spent on consultants and lawyers. I don’t belong to the ‘HG4′ and live in Stuart. I have similar hrs. to the original poster. I think quite a few of us do. So we have a full day without having time to do much of anything but work and a normal routine, research isn’t in the schedule, there’s no time for it. Bottom line is they had every right to hire someone, this is a free country. You can ignore whatever you like. Do you believe everything you read? Or see on TV about politicians, etc.? So Tyler and Tod like the poster said, step up to the plate with some new fresh ideas, not the same old thing. Or quit bitching about something that is done and over with. Tyler, you are great at pointing out problems, but never seem to give any solutions. Hey, anyone can do that. Tod, you’re a very smart man, let’s hear some new ideas. I agree with the poster, this old plan isn’t going to fly. But we will see it again, I’d bet anything on it. Funny how all these expenses are just now being found out about and at the time the figures were suspect from the start, and then the Supt. couldn’t keep them straight. Why not be out in the open, finding these things out now just makes us more suspicious about this Supt.
At least with Mr. Nulph you got the most from a buck and as far as I know the true story. This Dr. gives all Supt’s a black eye.

  45. This among others concerning IP tracking was posted on Tyler’s site. He chose not to post them.
I posted a similar one on Ann’s site and to her credit she posted it and addressed the issue.
I can only assume Tyler is tracking as much as he can but that isn’t much. He can tell IP
addresses, but to find out your identity he would have to be the law or give fraudulent information for your ISP or server to give him your name or any other information. From the site, it looks like he can tell what OS you are using and other tidbits but he can’t find out your identity. IF he can, he is committing a crime.
So, I guess, Tyler this is for you. You decided not to post a couple of my other posts too. Funny how when I mention I’m from Redfield you just happen to not post. If you want to limit posts on your site just say so, OK? Are you afraid of the truth or what? You have a quality day, regards.

Hmmmm,Ever wonder why the visitor number posted on the bottom of the page is ? Click on the above link and you can see what all can be found out about you as posters. Or better yet just click on the number at the bottom of the page. Pay attention to the left hand side of the page and at the bottom. HMMMMM!
Bet it’s interesting reading, what cha think? And you chastised that poster who asked how much you get per click. Not saying you get any money, just a lot of information.
You people with high speed or ‘always on’ internet. Tsk tsk tsk, if you only knew who is tracking you, besides the well-known Google, Yahoo and Microsoft.
Don’t believe and want to see what would be found check your registry at the p3p entry. Nuff said. I have dial-up and will put up with the slowness, cause my IP is dynamic and changes with most every connect or reconnect while yours is static or stays the same. Ways around that, but I ain’t gonna tell ya.

  47. Hi Wondering,
I just checked out that website, and it IS interesting. Anne is the blogging guru at the Eye; so I’m not well versed in all this stuff.
I know we get a report that tells us how many visitors we have broken down by day/hour etc., but I don’t know that it contains any other info, like IP addresses and so forth.
If it does, I seriously doubt Anne has the technical expertise to do anything with that info (no offense, Annie). In addition, I don’t particularly care who is posting what, you know? That won’t sit well with the folks who entertain paranoid delusions, but that’s a fact. As far as making money on clicks, we don’t. I wish we DID, but I doubt it would add up to much anyway. Nate is a lot more knowledgeable on the technical side of blogging…do you have anything to add, Nate, that will enlighten us further?
    Susan

  49. Thanks for the reply Susan. Ann replied when I posted on you two’s blog. I respect her for that. The above post was directed to Tyler, who chose not to post anything or a couple others that I wrote that had to deal with identifying posters.
I’m just wondering why he chooses not to at least post them. A simple reply like ‘yes I do look at IP’s’ would be fine with me. I don’t care, since that might only be used for demographics, but since this is local I hardly see how that might help. It’s as if he doesn’t want anyone to know that he can and evidently is tracking. Being silent and ignoring is often deafening and eyeopening. Also, I posted what I thought was a good post about the site proposed in the bonds and how the soil there might react. That never got posted either. If he wants a blog for just his friends and acquaintances, he should say so.

  51. Wondering/ You need to realize that when you post on the other blog you are dealing with a kid with a middle school mentality. He’s jealous of other blogs he perceives to receiving more posts and blocks comments he deems not in agreement with himself. I’ve found this blog and the Ieye to be more of what blogging is all about.

  52. wondering on April 14, 2007 7:35 am
  53. Good advice and I agree totally. Thanks.

  55. Here I am again after having three good posts not put up by the infantile Tyler. If you say anything bad about Arnold or disagree or try to counter a post Coe agrees with he won’t post it. So here’s to you Tyler and your adolescent approach to fair play and the truth and the WHOLE truth whether you like it or not. Let’s see how many you don’t post from now on!!

It won’t be forgotten either that I and others post on here about the good supt and board and their misdoings and reply to those who have their own agendas in supporting the creep and the comments never get posted. Well read all about em on Nates blog. He’s the only fair one in this town. I live in Stuart, so give me a hard time about being an east-sider. Stuart people are the one’s doing all the spewing. I’m sick of it. Read this on Nate’s blog. Thanks Tyler from now on I will post on both with copy and paste and show people the true you.

  57. Hey Tyler, use your vast computer skills to track my proxy. Give you a clue, get out your TCP/UDP package obfuscation skills and reverse
it. Then track my IP to nowhere. ISP is same but range relationships will be false.

    Your most welcome, anonymous.

We don’t need comments calling people “creeps,” although that’s the best word I’ve seen today trying to get on my blog.

I encourage you to utilize any source you have to in order for your comments to get posted.

I will allow you to say anything you want, anonymous, using any words you want if you will use your real name. That, my friend, will show the true you.

As always, have a quality evening

    Reply:
‘Creeps’ is your defining line of post/no post? And you have never had people calling others’ much worse than that? Post your rules so everyone can see them and define
them clearly or no one should be able to post anything negative regardless of terminology used, without identifying themselves. Or does that not meet your criterion?
Only your advocates and those who advocate your idolitries and use the correct syntaxs’ in describing them are allowed to post anonymous.
Is that what you are saying or implying?

  60. wondering on April 15, 2007 7:35 pm
  61. I REALLY wonder how many good, responsible, sensible posts get blocked over there. I guess that’s why children shouldn’t have or play with grown up toys!

  62. Anonymous on April 15, 2007 9:22 pm
  63. Just put the middle schooler on ignore. Don’t even read his blog. I’ve done that for some time now.

  64. Anonymous on April 15, 2007 10:24 pm
  65. I think it’s funny you are on a seperate blog bitching about Tyler. Sounds like something ol’ Annie and Sue would do. Maybe you are one of them or their group. But, if he’s nothing but a “kid with a middle school mentality,” why’s he getting to you so much? If you don’t like how he runs HIS blog, get your own. In the mean time, I think you are the one that needs to grow up.

  66. anonymous on April 16, 2007 6:17 am
  67. What’s funny and obvious is you are a big supporter of the middle schooler. Wondering has every right to complain. I’ve posted over there and not got it put up too. Most of us have other lives besides that of a school kid who evidently isn’t kept busy enough at school and has no social life. Kinda sad really, but he’s trying to run his gossip sheet and not let all the opinions out. That’s not what a blog is all about. You got negative on here with me, so where’s that put you? It wouldn’t have gotten posted on the middle schooler’s blog if he didn’t like what you said. He has no posted rules or disclaimers, so he can play his little boy games with concerned people’s feelings. He would anyway, because I believe he feels he is above everyone else and is the true saviour
come to free us from those hated ones on the east side. What a crock! If we in Stuart don’t stop being so proud of ourselves we will get a lot of peoples’ wishes and be by ourselves. I don’t think we will like that.
I’m betting wondering has been grown up a long time. How long have you? You must get all your posts put up!! You are so typical, everyone has to be a member of some group. I think wonderings posts here opened a lot of eyes or sounded real familiar to several anyway. Get a grip, or some medication, or both! Like was mentioned, I guess that’s why little boys shouldn’t play with big boy toys!
Maybe you belong to THAT group!!

  68. Susan on April 16, 2007 10:37 am
  69. I really wish people would stop calling me “Sue”.
