Welcome
June 14, 2005 |
Welcome everyone! Just a couple of thoughts to get started…
Today voters decide (again!) if we’re going to build a new high school. I know I’ve been pretty absent from the debate, but let me say a few things. The school district has the opportunity to be amazing if only people would allow it. I realize nobody wants to spend any of their hard-earned money on something they or their children may never use or even see, myself included. However, that doesn’t take the responsibility away to do your part to improve the community, no matter where you live. There’s a reason that so many kids like me leave after graduation and don’t come back…it’s not where I want my kids (whenever it is that they might come along) to go to school. The teachers that I had were incredible and did the absolute best that they could under the circumstances. But just imagine what the quality of education could be…but enough about that.
Moving on, the important thing I want to talk about is my trip home for Good Egg Days this weekend. Everyone responsible for the last few years has done a great job of actually making Good Egg Days an event that people wanted to attend, and this year I’m especially looking forward to the street dance on Saturday night. Working as a ticket broker for the last couple of years I’ve been to my share of good concerts, and I have to say that last year Stone Thro put on a hell of a show. Hopefully I will see all of you out there Saturday night.

Nice blog so far Nate! I’m excited to be able to get the down low on what is going on in Stuart since I feel I’m out of the loop nowadays. I unfortunately have not had the opportunity to see Stone Thro but according to many people I am really missing out. Once again I will not be able to see them or participate in any of the festivities of the weekend. I hope everyone has a great time though!
